I have a year to return my speakers for upgrade,this is a great option too,I thought I may move out of the rti8's and into the 10's...but I demoed the lsi9's and thought they sounded really good,I had a pair of mmg's and sold them just because I had no room for them,the 9's reminded me of the maggies,only thing is I like a lil rocknroll now and then,I wonder if their suited for harder tunes...any thoughts?

Welcome....only a few of us are snobby......lol.
The year you talk about is that through CC? If so, they don't carry the LSi line, let alone the RTi line any longer for you to upgrade to......Where are you talkin about the upgrade program at?comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -

KA,
The only music that sounds like crap on the Lsi speakers is Rap/hip-hop. Of course that's not really music and sounds bad regardless of the speaker its played on. -
So ya think the lsi9 bookshelf's a good upgrade over rti8 floor models

I think so, but as with all audio upgrades, you'll have to let your ears and your wallet decide.

Yes I plan on taking some different types of music down and giving them a good auditon,I can do an upgrade for about $270.00,I love this program!

Cool! Let us know how your audition goes.

Obivously the LSi's are a better overall speaker, but if you're listening to mainly rock, the RTi's will probably be your pick. Heavy guitars come across clearly on them, but will seem heavily veiled on the LSi. The LSi's get the nod on higher frequencies for accuracy and smoothness. I guess it just depend what kind of rock you are in to.
Steely Dan = LSi
Metallica = RTi
