no, that will not be bi-wiring. Bi-wiring is if you have seperate amps (or seperate channels off a receiver that has bi-amping capabilities) running each set of terminals on the speakers. That way you have seperate power supplies running the entire speaker (one amp for mids/highs and the other for midbass/bass). Hope this helps.
Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

    Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

What is the reason behind running the jumpers from one set to the other?

Close, that is bi-amping. Bi-wiring is just running two sets of cables to each speaker from one amp.

Keith, the idea is to reduce distortion but it is controversial. There is plenty of info on both bi-wiring and bi-amping on the net and in this forum.

Edit: Here is one article I have book marked on bi-amping

Keith, if you dont run jumpers, the top terminals which go to the tweeter circuit will not receive a signal.

Your speakers come with flat, gold plated, brass jumpers connecting both the top and bottom terminals. If you remove them, one set will no longer receive a signal, that is what I meant.

I havent heard the RTi8s but I'm sure that they are great as are all the Polk products. It's good that you found a speaker that suits your style.
