Well I do hate to part ways but I must. Seems like when it rains it pours, first the tranny on the van ( got that taken care of) and now the friggin central air unit has bit it hard today and turned the house into a sweat shop. Need to raise funds for a new heatpump so it has got to go.

It is in mint condition and perfect working order, I have the original box and manual. It will be packed well to insure that it makes it there in one piece. I am not currently set up for paypal so I guess payment will have to be by money order.

250 plus shipping takes it.

Cheers,
Mike

    Spaz,
I gotta deal for ya if your interested in the amp but need time for the cash. I am looking at getting an amp and am leaning towards Adcom but am looking at the 7807 model. For me I would be willing to pick-up this one to see what and if the sound is what I'm looking for and would be willing to sell it to you for the same price when you have the cash together, this way you will still get it and I will be getting an in-home tryout ( I would not abuse it)we could both get what we need and help a fellow member too, if that sounds ok let me know.

Well I hooked the amp up today using both new DH Lab cables and new Monster to gave it a little try-out. I first put the Denon on -20 and put in Matchbox 20 "Mad Season" and played both "Angry" and "Bent" in 2 channel with the speakers set on large and no sub then small with sub. The Denon did the job very well a usual. Then I put the amp on, the first thing I noticed is when I put the new DH Labs Silver Sonics BL-1 and turned the power on the amp and the Denon the speakers had a very audible humm  sounded simmular to when you touch the end of the RCA cable while things are still on (like noone has done that). I quickly shut the power off and put the Monsters on, the humm was still there but not as nearly as loud. Both times it was with no sound comming through the reciever, would that be normal? When I put the chosen CD in and started to play the songs there was no auditable noise the SPL read 92 with just the Denon, the SPL now was around 90/91 but the sound was more crisp in the highs and the mids were fuller, things seemed to blend better using the Adcom with the Denon then without. I feel this amp is a good sounding piece for the short time I tryed it. In both the large and small speaker settings the sound was just as pleasing whoever says the 70's can't put out adequite bass is not listening to things the same way I do cause I felt the bass from the 70's was pretty good with the music I chose and in my room setup.
So Spaz when your ready it will be sent.
Any suggestions on the DH cables?

hmm, never experienced any hums with my adcoms (now, adcom) - I had 5 in my room at one time, no hum...

strange, dunno y it would do that. Glad you like the amp!

Ok Dave sounds good only my main TV took a **** tonight. It kinda works for a sec then it turns on and off, changes chanels, settings on its own. I just signed up for Netflix and my one of my first DVD's i got was T3 and couldnt even watch the demolition scene. When i use the remote to try and change it back from whatever setting it fights with me to get it back to that setting. I turn it off...then 2 min later it turns itself on then does it wacky stuff. Man it seems like it demonized or something. Freaking nutty. Its a RCA 32" Trinitron 3.5 years old and i thought i had the extended warr only 20 min later after findng the recipt, turns out i dont. So looking like it will be a while for the amp. Dont know how long you want to hlod it for but a new TV is priority if this thing keeps up. I'll keep you posted.

No problem Spaz, let me know when your have the TV corrected and you ready for the amp..
As for the humm I'm leaning towards the cables because the DH labs had a much louder hum compared to the Monster. I never played anything through the DH cables to see if it would disappear I just shut things down and pulled them off and used the Monsters. Turning off the reciever had no effect on the hum. I should have tried seeing what effect pulling the cables off would have done but I never thought of that till just now. When I played the CD the hum quit and the music was clear as a bell with no extra noise heard of any kind just clean well blended music.

It wouldn't be something silly like a stuck remote button would it? After that I really don't know except to pull the plug for a little bit and see if anything resets itself. Nothing sucks more then to have something crap after the warrenty.

    Hope it's nothing big

    Hey spasticbull

Happened to come across this thread and just wanted to throw my 2 cents in about hte TV - Try covering up the remote sensor on the TV and seeing if the problem continues. I've heard of times where things like fluorescent lights can cause errant remote signals to be sent, maybe this is what's happening with your TV?

If covering up the remote sensor works, at least you know it's just something sending bad signals and then you can hunt that down.

    Just a thought....
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

As far as the amp and the hum issue. Today I went to a long time (30yrs) local stereo person today even though he is an order only installer (he has nothing in stock except Monster wire on the spool) and explaned the simptoms and he said that the amp should not be making any noise at all he knew the amp model I was refering to by just telling him the power output so I can only guess that he knows the Adcom brand. He is also a repair person so I am having him come out to my house to have a look Sept. 11 which is the soonest he can get out. For $45 the first hour and $25 every hour after that I will have everything ready for a fast hook-up with both cables there also. Just want to make sure that everything is alright hopefully it's not the amp or the Denon.

I did not have any issues with hum here, used it on the denon, the adcom that went to spaz, and a dynaco pat 4. Keep us posted.

Today I spent a little time looking into the humm issue I have and found that the DH-Lab cables had bad connects where there was no continuity with the outside contacts (I don't know the proper name) the center pin did. I took apart the ends and redid them making sure they didn't touch one another and that everything was connected properly and reassembled them. The wires on the DH-Labs were fine silver and I did a comparison between them and the Monsters. The Dh-Labs produced a clear and more detailed sound in the mids and highs and cleaner then the Monsters which were warmer and less detailed in the highs. The Adcom performed flawless and didn't make a sound after I fixed the cables.
My testing is done and the sound is very good and it has no problems what so ever. It's packed up and ready to ship to Spaz when ready.
