seperate amp would give these speakers what they are asking for. I would consider no less than 200 watts per channel. Take a look at the Outlaw amps (770 or 750).

Well, you don't "need" a separate amp. Your 7200 can drive them fine. However, you'll get better sound with a separate amp. You'll find plenty of decent 2-channel amps for your 12's. Get a used amp to save money. Look into a Parasound 1500A, or other models by Acurus or Outlaw or Rotel or NAD or Adcom..... Try www.audiogon.com or ebay or the Flea Market on this forum.

I agree with marcam -- get at least 200 wpc. Plan on spending a minimum of $400 - $500. I suggest you make this one of your last upgrades. Make sure you have everything else in place first -- nice big TV/projector, an awesome sub, decent surrounds, good interconnects, power cords, speaker cables, etc.

To set it all up, you'll use RCA cables to attach the amp to the front left & right pre-outs on your receiver, and hook up your speakers to the amp. That's it, pretty simple.

BTW -- I have a HK 525 and use a Parasound HCA 1200II amp (205 wpc) to power RTi10's. Sounds great.

Get an amp, not a pre-amp. Go with Carver.
