hey guys, im hoping you can help
i bought a new speaker system about 11 months ago which consists of -
rm6200 speaker system
psw202 subwoofer
hooked up through a yamaha receiver rxv540
i havent used the woofer for a few months, so tonight i turned it on to watch a new music dvd i bought, and theres this crackly kinda noise coming outta the sub, ive checked the connections and they look fine... it sounds like the cone is screwed? a hole or something, but ive never dropped it, or had it turned above half at most?
any ideas, is this a common problem
im pretty annoyed seeing as its hardly been used, so anyones input would be appreciated..
cheers

Hi Bridget, welcome to Club Polk
There was a run of defective 202 amplifiers. The same thing happened to my 202. You can take it back where you bought it or contact Polk Customer service. They will replace the amp for you.Graham -
hey thanks for that, ill call the store tomorrow and hopefully they replace it for me easily as they should
and thanks for the welcome -
Hello Rockstar,
Thanks for contacting us, I'm sorry you're having a problem with the PSW202. If the store is unable to exchange the unit, you would want to:
1). unplug the AC power cord and remove the 10 Phillips head screws that go around the circumference of the amplifier's input plate.
2). the amplifier will come away from the cabinet and you'll see two wires (one red the other black) that lead to the 10" woofer. These wires easily disconnect from the woofer's terminals using the slip off metal clips.
3). box the amplifier up and send to Polk Audio, 2550 Britannia Blvd., Suite A, San Diego, CA. 92154, please include a short note giving us your name and address and a copy of your sales receipt.
The service department will quickly send a replacement amplifier.
Regards, Ken, Polk -
