I got paid to buy the RTi10s!!!
Strolled into Circuit City today to check out the new Monitor series. To my surprise, they had the last pair of RTi10's on clearance for $179 each. So I ran home, packed up my RTi70's, and went back CC to take advantage of their trade up program. Since I paid $199 each for the 70's, CC gave me a credit of ~$40 for taking those 10's out of the store. Sure was nice of them to do that.
I'm gonna save that credit and wait until they drop the price of the Csi5, then take my Csi40 back along with the credit and trade up.

How does that trade up at CC work?
I bought some open box RTi 8's but they had some 10's or 12's there also open box and I guess the price will come down somewhat in a months time if they still there.Equipment:
Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR601
Fronts: Polk RTi10's
Center: Polk Csi40
Rear: noname
Subwoofer: SVS 20-39 PCi One day

yep i know what you mean. I picked up a pair of RTi10 for $202 a piece @ cicuit city. I figured they would over power my old setup so i bought a pair of RTi6, FXi3 and a CSi3 for center. I really wanted the CSi5 but they were out of my budget.I'm going to setup the RTi6 as my rears and the FXi3 as my surrounds. Tomorrow is the day i will be running all my new wiring and finding a place for them on my wall for proper placement. My Setup:
Sony Da4ES
Toshiba 50HDX82 RPTV
DishNetwork 6000 HD Receiver
Fronts: RTi10
Rears: RTi6
Surrounds: FXi3
Center: CSi3

i think the CC where i live is about to bite it.. the shelves are nearly empty. they used to carry quite a few receivers.. now that got 4.
Best Buy is right across the street. and I think they are taking what few customers they had. I hope they blow out the Polks and I can score a pair of Monitor 70's or something like that.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

EarlyB,How do the 10's sound compared to the 70's? I was by a CC last weekend and looked at them, the 10's-12's are an awesome "looking" speaker...I did'nt get a chance to hear them, the salesman could'nt figure out how to fire them up...

EarlyB,How do the 10's sound compared to the 70's?
The 10's sound better than my RTi70's for both movies and music. Of course there's more bass, but they sound a bit more laid back to me than the 70's. The 70's were a tad brighter. My wife felt the 10's sounded much better for music, although we have a separate 2-channel system for music in another room.
I still need to play around with the settings and placement to give you a more definitive response. Not sure the 10's are broken in yet. They were a floor model.
BTW, they look 10x cooler than the 70's.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I also bought our 70's/40 from CC,but over a year ago...If I could, I would upgrade in a heartbeat...I REALLY like the "looks" of the 12's...sombitches are enough to give a man hard feelings...

Whoa! You did almost exactly what I did. Except I had to pay 90$. I saw the rti10's on cc's web site. Packed up my rti70's and traded them in. I do miss my old speakers but I love these. (Gotta compete with my dad & friends hehehe).pioneer vsx-d411

you guys are killing me with the deals you get on rti line and trade ups...no one here who sells polk offers trade-up/ins.
and the price !!!! WOW even that price CAD still beats what we would pay for them here...hmmm last time I saw a deal on rti8's..open box 860$... WHAT A DEAL !! -
rti10's on clearance?
I thought the rti10 _was_ the new line of speakers ?
I just bought a whole set (rti10's, csi3 center, rxi3 rears). Are they not the latest models ?
Also, I'm _considering_ taking the csi3 back and getting the csi5. However, the guys I'm working with, while they would love to take another $200 from me (:)), say the csi3 is actually a better match and that the csi5 is a bit boomy to suit them.
I felt the same way about the rti12's. I was set to pay the higher price for them, but I thought the midrance on the rti12's was a bit too 'boomy' and hollow to suit me.

Monitors are the new line....but the RTi's are new just not as new...I would stick with the Rti's if you like the sound of the csi3 keep it...I have not heard anyone saying the csi5 was boomy.
