I was at a small speaker store today and I was inquiring about an amp and they are Integra sellers but he has 1 or 2 (I can't remember) Carver amps NIB that were bought for a customer some time ago that never claimed them and they are stuck with them. The exact model # I'm also not clear he said but I just can't remember (580 something I think) 110wX5 for $650, is that a good price for a Carver even though Carver is nolonger around? maybey for resale on E-bay or would someone hear like it? He did suggest that the speakers and amp power choice depended on the speakers eff. raiting, I told him that I would like to be in or around the 200wX7 range. He gave me the Integra DTA-9.4 240wX7 @4ohm, 120wX7 @8ohm what is a good price price out the door, he said that the price they had was on the higher side and probably would be cheeper given the price drop he said they had and would get the exact price if I would like on Monday. Any thoughts?

Dave,I think Carver and Integra are both good quality amps. Are you going to use your Denon as a pre/pro? I'm also looking at a power amp to "kick things up a notch" I'm leaning towards an NAD T973-140x7 or a Rotel RMB 1095-200x5...

Good luck on your adventure into separates,a lot of very good used equip. on audiogon...

    Cheers,Mike
