for that price you could probably go with onkyo 797 or denon 2802 online. i think you would find either of these recievers ample. both good receivers with lots of extras for the $$$. do you have a local hi-fi store you can go to, to demo some units?

are you looking to upgrade to 6.1 anytime in the near future? that may play into what reciever you want to go with as well.

    welcome to the forum....:D

I'm perfectly satisfied with my JVC RX9010VBK. It may not get the peer respect of Denon or Onkyo, but it works for me. I don't see other brands having dual zone (cd in one room, FM in another), an HONEST 4ohm capability, 4 digital ins, a USB in (I wish I'd have gotten it before Napster went heads up), and an RF multi-brand remote (out in the yard), for anything less than two appendages. At $350, it would free up money for better cables, sub amp, etc.

Don't get me wrong, this receiver has it's problems. No pre-outs, no digital-analog/analog-digital recording.

I honestly think the above mentioned receivers are BETTER, but there is a law of diminishing returns. I remember back in the mid-80s when Marantz was a punchline. They seemed to have gotten back on the right track. I think this is what JVC is going through right now. Either way, it deserves an audition.
    Make it Funky! :)

Gidrah, I couldn't help but notice your comment regarding Napster. I too felt the sting of losing out on the option of stealing copyrighted material from their creators and authors. No more, I've since discovered a peer to peer application that allows me the same criminal capacity. Try this link morpheus application if you still have a taste for acquiring music files, movie files, images, documents, software, etc., many of which are completely copyright protected ... but nonetheless free to the morally bankrupt. That universal serial bus may still be of use to you.

I imagine there are many other similar peer to peer apps out there and perhaps you are already aware of this, but I figured it could benefit someone if not you.
