Wondering where I shoudl go with my setup. Currently
Alpine 9827
Polk 675 2-way (rear)
Polk 650 comps (front)
Should I go 4-channel? Would that increase my bass response? (enough to satisfy that once in awhile craving)
Should I go mono/sub and run all speakers off my hu?
OR
Should I go 2 channel, amp the comps up front, and mono-block (yea, pretty set on a mono block amp) sub combo in back and leave the rears to suffer with the head unit? Is that possible? Would I suffer from bad sound quality?
NOTE: Please read my post on Infinity Kappa Perfect 10 VQ vs MM12 in the sub section, perhaps more light can be shed
I'm on a undergrad college student budget. Also, my car is in midlife (another 70000 or so miles to live)

Monoblock amp is out. All amps are either 2channel or 4channel
I'll be running only 1 sub anyway.Testing

just go with a nice five channel amp. This one Kenwood Amp should be a nice enough amp for you.Equipment List:

Kicker KX850.4

I agree that a five channel amp is a good solution. They are a lot simpler to install and more practical.
My choices would be either this MTX for $500, this Kicker for $570 or this Crossfire for $520.
I would say my first choice would be either the MTX or the Crossfire but the Kicker is no slouch.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

I thought about that, but I was afraid that there performance wasn't gonna be too good.
Anyone know of any more 5 channel amps?
And does anyone actually have that kinda setup? What's your opinion on it?Testing

Planet Audio makes one and so does Orion, PPI and JL Audio.
A 5 channel is a very good solution however it wont yield a lot of sub power. The MTX, Kicker and PPI will put out well over 400 rms to a sub at 2 ohms whereas the Orion, Planet Audio and Crossfire will dish out well over 300. While this is still a lot of power and will provide plenty o' bass, it wont break any windows or allow you to be heard blocks down the road. If mucho punch is what youre after then you should go with a dedicated sub amp.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
