Hi I just purchased a set of f/x500i surround speakers it was the last set the store had so I can not tell if the set I have are defective. The speakers when you shift them back and forth have some items loose inside the loose pieces sound large and bang around quite loudly..One speaker is alot worse than the other. Is this normal I have not installed these and need a answer before I return .

Thanks

My Fx's make no sound when held and shook.
So they don't make martini's well.

tokeniso - large bangs and bumps from inside your speakers is a bad sign. i would either take them back or since they are the last ones in the store, you could try contacting polk customer service. did you buy these open box???

welcome to the forum:D and sorry to hear about your bad luck with your purchase. you will find that polk is a quality company that puts out a quality product, and they will work with you to fix your problem.

They where bought new in a closed box at the Wiz. The thing that made me wonder was that Both speakers made the same type of noise when gently shaken.

Polk speakers are a quality product and great company for sure if they are that way Im sure it was from someone clumsy in the stockroom.

I recently purchased the f/x500's from the WIZ also. They had a sale at 399.00/pair.

Mine don't have anything rattling around in the speakers, so something may have come loose in yours.

Was the box damaged? Mine came packaged fairly securely. If not, then they could have repackaged them if they were floor models.

You could open them up by unscrewing the driver speaker and taking a peek with a flash light. It could just be something simple.

    Do they work OK?

Otherwise, bring them back to the WIZ.
