I went over Spasticpitbulls last night to bring my new tube amp and try on his new Monitor 10's.. well when he got the 10's one tweeter was blown so he got one from madmax.. while i was over there i took the broken tweeter home to play with, learn alittle, try and fix it. Ends up what was blown was the tiny wire leads that go from the coil to the terminals under that black silicone stuff on the front.. i removed that and sure enough the wires were gone... so i removed the dome/coil... resoldered a wire on each side of the coil, resoldered it to the terminals.. covered it with hot glue... and wammo.. it worked... Ive had it hooked to my rt25i's for the last few hours at medium volume.. sounds clear and doesnt distort. NOw i don't know if it will last, or sound degration issues as this was a project at best.. well anyways........ ive never heard anyone repairing them.. just replaceing them.. so heres a first maybe.

I'll post a pic of the completed tweeter later

Maybe you should start collecting broken ones and fixing them. I doubt polk will give you a job applying the black glue to their tweeters though. :D
