RT2000p or RTi12
A friend moving interstate is offering me the choice of one of his 2 sets of speakers (used but both in excellent condition) for the same low price, either a pair of RT2000p or a pair of RTi12.
I plan to use them to upgrade the front speakers in my HT 5.1 system (currently RTi8 Front, Csi5 Center, FXi5 Rear, Velodyne HT12 Subwoofer).
Advice please, which pair should I choose? Thanks.

I have the RT2000p's, I love them but did not vote for them. In your case I'd recommend the RTi12's. They are the match for your existing set up.

elawyer1,
Welcome to the club ...
Given the choices I voted for the 12's, but given what you have, I'd keep the 8's, especially if you have a receiver driving the mains. -
get the 2000p's and start a 2 channel rig

2000p will have better bass..
The RTi12 will have better mids and highs...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
With regards to the bass, since the 2000p's have powered subs I would agree IF you are powering both by the average receiver, but not if they are both being powered by a decent amp as the plate amps in the 2000p's are not very powerful.
