The speaker selection is very good.
Would probably add a subwoofer to finish off bass end of home theater set up.
Depending on how much time spent in hometheater, versus music listening time, might consider a
set of fx300's or 500's instead of the rt35's for surrounds.

WHAT DO YOU PERFER ABOUT THE FX500 AND 300 OVER THE 35'S. i ALSO AM GOING WITH THE PSW 450 FOR THE SUB I JUST FORGOT TO PUT IT DOWN YOU THINK THAT WILL BE ENOUGH

from personal experience..I like my surrounds to be direct..wich would mean the 35's over the f/x series. The f/x series is good..they just give a more difused sound sound than I care for at this time.... and the 35's imo will not only save ya couple bucks but will sound better on multi-channel music...

Now for the sub... I'm not fond of Polks subs..but if you like them...then your choice is fine

I've heard that Asperion (sw-12) and Hsu (vtf-2) are top of the subwoofer game. Here are some links to Hsu:

Earnest, I know that you only want to spend about $350.00, but I thought I'd provide you with this link anyway. HSU's VTF-2 reviews After reading the reviews on the VTF-2 sub for $499.00, it may provide the impetus for shelling out more cash, or waiting for the time when you can. I myself would love to pick one of these up at some point.

    Earnest-

Yes, I think the 450 is a good choice in subs.
I'm running two of them, like 'em very much.
As stated, the fx series is a more diffused sound producing speaker. It is what the ambient, surround sound of the rear channel is all about.
Direct radiating speakers, such as the rt35i's will have a sweet spot, and sound better in one position over another. Much more involved to set up properly. They will have an advantage in multichannel music, but that's not the main focus in home theater.

SO YOU THINK I WOULD BE BETTER OFF WITH THE FX SERIES FOR THE SOURROUNDS OR THE REAR SOURROUNDS OR BOTH. I HAVE ALREADY BOUGHT THE 35I FOR SOURROUNDS BUT I CAN ALWAYS MOVE THEM . i REALLY DONT KNOW ALL THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT SPEAKER SELECTIONS SO YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPREICATED:confused:

I went 800's for front and back and the fx500i's for sides. It's the best of both worlds with muliti-channnel music (dvd-a,sacd) and discrete 6.1 . I'd suggest to place your rt35i's as backs and get the the fx series for sides.
If it means anything, THX recommends the back channels to be directs.

i THANK YOU FOR THE INFO RIGHT NOW I AM GOING TO DO JUST THE SIDE SURROUNDS BUT WHEN I DO THE REAR SURROUNDS I WILL JUST MOVE THE 35S TO THE BACK AND REPLACE THEM WITH THE FX500'S, DOES THAT SOUND GOOD TO YOU:p

    Earnest-

If you already have the rt35's by all means use them. They are excellant speakers.
I use the fx500's as surrounds. I only have one set of rear surrounds.
I use a cs400 as my rear center.
On the front side I use rt1000i's as mains, cs1000 as center, and rt25's as front "effect" (yamaha) speakers.

I don't have a "side surround" selection on my receiver.
For music, I have a set of rt800i's hooked up to the B-side.

You've got all the right toys, play with 'em awhile, hear what sounds best to you.

    later amigo,

great set-up choice, i have the same speaker package, except for rt25i's for the rear surrounds. i am upgrading my sub soon, and i think i am going to shell out the litle extra for the hsu sub, from reading all the reviews, it sounds pretty incredible for the price...

from what's out there, i think you would be happier with the HSU. i am upgrading to a HSU soon (hopefully ;) ). i love polk, but their subs just lack something for me... i haven't heard the HSU, but after reading all the rave reviews, i think i'm convinced, this is my next sub. sounds like it's the best for the money...

You guys looking for a sub may want to check out www.acoustic-visions.com . They build subwoofers and they tailor make it to what you want. They use the same drivers as in the Hsu, but also have a selection of many different drivers. They will work with you on what will make you happy. They will also use any paint and finish you want so it matches your room. I highly recommend you talk to them before you go with a Hsu. I'm a very satisfied customer of theirs. Their sub rattled a lightbulb loose while I was doing the Avia test tones!

Hey Earnest if you have the oppurtunity to test a HSU Reserach VTF-2, do yourself a favor and go listen to it. It is the most awesome thing you will ever hear. Once you get past the initial looks of the sub, the quality you hear is incredible. I went to a local HiFi store and they actually had one on demo. I almost lost it. I went directly up to the manager and said I wanna demo the HSU (pronounced Su) VTF-2. He led me over the room and I had one hell of a time. I don't think I have heard a sub this good for under a $1000. If you got the time and money, go with the HSU, it blows the socks off any sub that Polk sells.

Now if I only had $500, I could go buy one! :D

    Good Luck!

BTW, the rest of your systems looks awesome. I need to upgrade my center channel and I will have almost the same thing (except I sprang for the 1000i's and f/x300i's, but overall about the same sound quality.)

fabian...I have actualy auditioned m$k subs.. and thought they were better than some..but not for thier price... The one I mainly listened to was an $1,800 dual 12" monster... but I thought the sun true jr beat it or met it for 1/3 the price... Actualy... i like my ct150 better... but that is what I heard... I demoed it off a yammie 1200 and using Titan AE... just my 2Cents

I'll tell you That I got my Cerwin Vega ls-15 for $250 and I have had the construction crew that was building the house next to mine wanting to find out what was going on . It has a 150 watt amp and is a 15" rear ported driver. It can get a little boomy at high volume but is a very good sub.
Shhhh.... Don't let My wife know. She thinks that I am buying flowers.

anybody know if the speaker wire they sell at partsexpress is non-corrossive? Clear wires like that and the 12awg Home Depot wire are known to corrode.

Earnest, buddy the caps lock please. You have our attention. It is very tough to find a price cheaper than $499 on the net. Though some places have them. Look on some of the classifides or to searches using google.
