Hello all,
I just have some problems with the Surround speakers. (RM7200 home theater set). My room is a 12"x 24" with the surround is mounting on the back wall, two feet above the couch (I have no option of side surrounds where the speakers facing each other like Polk suggested). Right now, the surround speakers is tilting and facing forward toward the plasma.
Here is the problem. The surround sounds coming out of these speakers are very low. Also, there are a little humming noise (only with the two surrounds speakers).
I set the setting of of the surround to SMALL like Polk suggested. and right now with the setting of +10 DB for center, and 8DB for two fronts and two surrounds. What else can I do? The highest setting that I can set for the surround is +10 db. Is there something else I can set? i.e crossover ??
thank you.

Calibrate your system the right way by using an SPL Meter.
Here's a link to get you started.

Yes, you need to calibrate. Your center and mains are set WAY too high...

your surrounds should not be as loud as your main front speakers..
surrounds are there for rear effects only.. not very often do you hear dialog coming from the surrounds.
a speaker level meter is a must have for any home theater to be properly set up. it's impossible to do it be ear and get proper levels for all your speakers.
Oh yeah, welcome to club Polk and the wonderful world of Polk Audio.
check back often to the answers to your questions. and ask more.. the people in here are very helpful.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
