BEST "FACING" position RTi4's/rear

Well Iam finally going to see about mounting my RTi4's (rear surrond) on the wall(s) for my small (12X12) HT room . Iam lucky enough to be able to have the option of "back wall" mounting or "side wall" mounting , along with correct height postion about 2-3 feet above the listening ear level for either mounting . The listening/seating position will be against this far back wall as well .
Polk suggests for front firing rear speakers (non di-pole) , that they be placed on the side walls "FACING" in towards each other and ABOVE the listening seating for BEST surround results .
My question is this ....
With my options of "back wall" mounting (speakers facing forward towards tv) , or "side wall" mounting (speakers facing IN , towards each other) ; which postion would you recommend best . I really only want to mount the RTi4's one time only and get it right the first time around so as not to re-patch the walls etc , it being a brand new house and all .
Thanks for any opinions and help .

I wouldn't call it lucky given that your couch is up against the wall ... but given where it is and that you have point source speakers, put them on the side walls ...
Question tho ... If these are to be REAR surrounds, where are the side surrounds ? -

Well , maybe I should have said lucky in the fact that atleast I have the side vs back option (and correct height availability) and also just said "rears" as opposed to "surround" .
So side (facing inward) would be best as Polk suggests .
