Safe to use Power Center?

Hey all. Wanted to know something about power centers and circuits. I was reading the thread about Balanced Power units, the BPS 2.5 to be exact, which looks really nice, but that is an upgrade way down the road.
I will shortly be upgrading from an Onkyo 701 to the Outlaw 950/770 combo. Later, from a Sony sub to a SVS PB2+. My question: I have a Monster HTS 3600, and I was wondering if it would be safe to run the TV, Preamp, Amp, DVD, and sattelite/dvr units off of the HTS. I'd really like to have them all on surge protection, but I'm worried about the power draw essentially from one outlet (the HTS cord). It worked fine at my old place, but that was with the 701. I'm worried the 200wpc 770 amp will be too much to run off of the 3600 with the rest of the components. To quote Der Weisse Engel: "Is it safe?" (kudos to those who get the reference). Would I need to ensure that my viewing room was on its own circuit? And don't worry, I wouldn't even think of adding the sub to that mix off the 3600. Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks.

The only thing drawing any real current is the amp. I'm sure Monster states the limits of the power center, you need to figure out the maximum watts of each unit and the total amps, then compare that with the Monster's ratings. Your line is most likely rated for 15 amps, if all the stuff totals close to that you should consider a second line.
BTW, I get it.Political Correctness'.........defined

The MC HTS-3600 has a high current duplex outlet on the rear, simply use that outlet for your Pre-Amp/Amp.
You do not need a second line.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
The B&K 7270 amp I use has similar theoretical maximum current draw as the Outlaw amp. I have my amp, preamp, rear projection TV, cd player, and DVD player connected to an HTS 5100. The most the amp reading has ever reached on the 5100 in my 7.1 system is 4.9 amps at reference level. I'll usually have a movie on at -15db below reference and the current draw is usually 4.3 amps then.
So, unless you're inclined to abuse your gear by over driving it to an extreme degree, you're safe. As an alternative, you can plug many large amplifiers directly into the wall socket and use the built in surge protection large amps have. You could also use a single outlet surge protector separately with the amp if it's rated to 15 amps. -
Id try & run your system off your hts 3600. Plug your amp into the high current outlet. It should be labled amp if im not mistaken & that should work. let your ears be the judge. Id run the system off the 3600 than use a good extension cord & plug your amp into another circuit & see if there is any difference. If no difference plug your system in to the 3600. My system at 90db draws about 6amps playing 5.1dvda & movies about 4.0 & peaks of near 5.0. Unless you listen very loud you should be ok!

You should be fine. Except for the Xbox, everything on my rack in the system showcase and my TV and my two 505 subs are plugged into a 3500. No problems. I plugged the 505 amps into the two designated "high current" sockets.
