Just had the woofs professionally refoamed. Cabs very good, a little bit of the vinyl on a rear corner has just started to 'come up', but I'll glue it back down. Grilles GREAT, drivers GREAT, sounds GREAT.
Acoustic suspension floorstanding 3-way, 10" woof, 6" mid, 1" silk dome (same silk dome in the famous 'A' series). These were made 89-90, at $650 / pair.
$125 local pickup, I have the original boxes if you want them also. There isn't anything on the market now at twice the price, that sounds half as good. Very musical, and rock solid down to 30Hz.
Pics to come. These will hit ebay VERY soon to make room around here.
Cheers,
Russ

Sweeeet, I love that tweeter for some reason. I have heard these and was very impressed with them. The bass response is what blew me over. Are those dahlquists behind them, hope I spelled that right.

They are simply 'fun' speakers to listen to. Any genre of music, with pretty much anything on the back end. Tubes, a cheap receiver, high end separates.
Acoustic Suspension bass is where it's at, period. 'Articulate' is the best word I've found to describe the bass.
Yes, those are mirror-imaged Dahlquist DQ-10's with the Regnar crossover upgrades, flanked by Pioneer HPM-1500's.

I am suprised you are selling these. Unless I am confused, I thought I remember you posting something to the effect about how much you enjoyed listening to these. Oh well, makes me wish I was local to pick them up.

There are 22 pairs of speakers in my house, I want it down to 6 or 7. The Boston's you probably remember me raving about were the A100's, and they are LONG gone.

Hey russ,
Forgot to mention something, the kg's that I picked up from you are about to be shipped off to their place of birth. I had emailed asking about passives for them and then one thing led to another, to make a long story short they are being inducted into the klipsch museum in hope, ark. They are sending me a pair of rb 35's in cherry in trade for them, should be interesting to give them a run and see how they sound. Sorry if I hijacked your thread.

I wish I only had 22 pair of speakers in THIS house. I did just move a pair of BA-150's, so that's at least one pair gone this week. Might be under thirty pair by fall at this rate.

What do you think of the HPM's? My first system included a pair of HPM-40's. Great little speakers...Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -
Actually, I wasn't expecting much except maybe just a regular, good rock n roll party speaker.
They are actually VERY nice. The flying saucer super tweet puts a nice 'air' on the top end, and the mid and tweet are the same used in some JBL models out at the same time. 15" woof doesn't have much excursion, but it honestly doesn't need it. Bass is rich, lush, and there is just the right amount of it. That, and they throw a HUGE soundstage.
Worth every penny of $500 if you ask me, a speaker you NEED to hear at least once in your lifetime.

Last call, tired of looking at them - they'll hit ebay tonight on a 5-day.

I am in the market for some budget HT Speakers...
Do you think you could do shipping to Florida, and how would you say they perform in both two channel and HT compared to other brand name speakers,
I am very interested. -
Local sale only, sorry. Even though I have the original boxes, I would still want to double box, and its an awkward size, pain in the ****, etc etc.
