Size of CSI5
Hello all! I'd like to upgrade my CSI3 to a CSI5. Was just wondering if it will fit on top of the typical TV set. I've read that the CSI5 has a "kick stand" that helps support it on top of the TV set, and was just wondering if that's pretty effective.
Right now, my CSI3 overhangs in back by a couple inches, and it's only 9+ inches deep. The CSI5 is 14+ inches deep, so just wondering if that 'kick stand' will help support it enough.
If it won't work, does anybody think it would work by adding one of those top mount platforms on top of the TV?
Thanks again, for all your input.

No room under TV.

I have a CSi5 on top of a 27" TV w/o the kickstand ... I suppose I could have used the kickstand, but I didn't ... As long as you don't bump into it a lot you aren't going to have a problem.

I just looked at a picture of the CSI5 with the kickstand on the Polk website. I think it will probably work. I think mine's less steep than the back of the TV pictured.

i have a 43 tv and my csi5 doesnt fit. i dont realy like the kickstand. i put some brakets up behing the tv and it holds the speaker up great. its cheep and easy!

My CSi5 is about 6 in on the TV and 8 off. Don't forget, the power ports are put into the depth equation, minus the power ports, the speaker is about 12" long, 13 1/2" with the grill.
The Kickstand should be more or less used as a stabilizer, DO NOT expect your TV's back-end to support it. I've noticed with most TV, that that area is used for ventilation is very flimsy, fortunatly, the the speaker (Like most I would assume) Is very front heavy, so you really shouldn't have a problem with it at all,
go for it! -

I did the same thing on a recent CSi5 install. The front sits on the TV; the rear sits on the shelf. Custom looking; can't see the shelf from the front at all."What we do in life echoes in eternity"

I finally decided to get a CSI5, and the "kickstand" has worked fine for me. It looks and sounds great!
