Roth made the band. They've basically sucked ever since. Although it's probably the only band Roth could ever be great in. He sucked on his own too.2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. For me, Van Halen ended when Roth left. The Hagar stuff sucks. Weepy, sentimental 80's crap. No longer rock.Current System:

Diamond Dave, period.
Hagar who? What?Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
Roth was VERY good in the early days. However, I actually liked some of the Haggar stuff....OU812 comes to mind with "Best of Both Worlds" as a nice little rocker. The band fared better without DLR than he did without them. He went downhill fast and his comeback attempts with the band were pathetic....IMO."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

I liked Hagar by himself. Ever hear the live version of Trans-Am with the killer intro (around 1980). Sounds like a drag car rev up a couple times then take off. Really loud and bad ****.
I need to find this on CD. -
TransAm intro from 1980, low quality:

Sure Roth wins (I voted for him too), but IMHO this is mainly due to the fact that anything after Diver Down sucked except an ocassional tune or two and only 1/2 of Diver Down was any good. The band changed their style of music and I think they did it for the worse.
