db6500 crossover

Hi,

I am installing the db6500 in my doors, and cannot find any way to attenuate the tweeter at the crossover. Is there any way of doing this with this component set, or will I have to handle it at the head unit?

    The DB crossover is straight wired, no option of attenuating the tweeter. The Momo coaxial x-over are like that also.

    My Momo 6x9 x-overs are straight wired also so Im bi-amping them with a 40x4 Alpine amp and am able to adjust them that way but if you are running a 2 channel amp then your stuck with your treble EQ at the head unit.

    I actually have an alpine 40 x 4 as well and was planning on doing front and rears with it, but maybe I will follow your lead and power the rears by the head unit and biamp the front.

    Ill throw ya one better. Unless youve bought new rear speakers, you should dump them outright. They arent the best way to go for the best sound quality. They wont suck but having music coming from 4 different points can smear the detail.

    However if your set on rear speakers then you should go to Circuit City and get the 50x2 Alpine. They have it on sale for like $115 or something. I have this powering my sub (because CC sucks and never have the 200x1 in stock!!!) and it is a good, clean little amp.
