WHEEEE!!!!

THey are a bunch of old hippies with thier huge gas guzzling SUV's, parked infront of the site. They are sitting at a table with a banner draped over the front that has the Lockheed Martin logo and "...we're making a killing!" on it and NIMBY slogans. The banner is being held down by thier massive Starbucks Coffee cups while they sit there sunning themselves in thier L.L. Bean outerwear and shouting things at employees entering the complex.

Kinda hypocritical. We aren't allowed to yell things back either. If we were, I'd get a bullhorn and stand there shouting things like "Dirty hippies, go home!" or "Don't you have a job to go to?"

I guess we should just stop doing what we do here and when the missles come raining in and the arabs start turning more planes in guided explosives and they start screaming that the govenment should have done something about it, we can say "We were." "But you told us to stop killing people and that you didn't want it in your backyard."

The real shame is that this facilty has been here since the 40's. These houses around us are 10 years old, tops. Next they will be complaining that thier kids are growing extra eyes and arms and thier pets are getting freaked out because of the radar.

Depends on how nice the weather is. The nicer the weather, the more likely they are to come out and harass us. Only thing is, they usually need a permit to stage the protest due to the sensitive nature of the work we do. If they don't have a permit and we are not warned, they can be removed by the local police because they pose a security and liability risk.

Nah, that just makes a big mess and the greenies get even madder at us.

I'd rather schdule hi-profile visits for the day of the protests and watch them scramble in the prop-wash from the helicopter rotors. A Bell-Huey and Blackhawk escorts can make a hell of alot of racket and move even more air!

Jstas, if you are not allowed to shout anything back, I would recommend getting all the employees you can, loading them into the back of a pickup truck, or even better, on the back of a flat bed truck, and drive by the hippies whilst mooning them. The driver can also give them the finger, so he doesn't get left out. You could give the hippies a "silent but deadly" protest of your own.

Usually, when someone is trying to be funny they throw in a smiling or winking happy face thing.

Since you didn't, I took your words at face value. To have assumed anything else, IMO, would have been pretty retarded.

I guess I forgot that the idea of shooting people you disagree with is really funny to some folks. That's just me and my total lack of a sense of humor, I guess.

Yes, I took the statement literally when, apparently, I should have been making assumptions about the author and his intent. Still, it seemed a little nasty to me even if it was meant as a joke.

I believe I admitted to obviously taking the comment too literally but also that even as a joke it wasn't too funny. Just voicing my opinion. Not too surprised by the reaction.

Guess I didn't feel like slinking away with my tail between my legs. I find it a challenge to continue having a discussion with people who have stooped to name calling as a "debate" strategy without succumbing to the same tactics myself.
