My copy arrived today and I just finished listening to it. First impression is that it's the best release I've heard with more detail, depth, improved bass and there is a bit of air not present in other isssues. However it's still from a half a$$ master and I only give the sonics a 6. The "At Fillmore East" will be released in August, I'm looking forward to it. Those guys were the masters of jam!

That gives me a month to get a SACD player.:(
I saw them a few years back. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Plenty of "deadheads" jonesing for a methadone-esque buzz after Jerry passed.Make it Funky! -
and after 30 some years they still are!

Although the sonics on the 2-channel SACD layer are superb, the 5.1 mix is a little wishy-washy. All in all it sounds fine, just their use of the surround speakers is haphazard.

Aren't we talkin' Allman Brothers? Weren't there Allmondheads instead of Deadheads?

You are right, I believe that Mark was referring to Almondheads in his post, or more correctly Almond Joys.
