I am moving and I might not have an ideal place for the projector anymore. I have to take a step back into LCD or DLP projectors if this is the case to built a smaller HT.

Not many hours on it (I will check exact hours once I get home). Cannot do progressive, 7" CRT, but the PQ is still amazing. Better than I have seen in any digital projectors. Not that I have seen that many but for the price this can't be beat. Audition can be arranged if you're local to DFW.

Asking $1800. Prefer local pickup but I can ship with original packaging. Will include manual, remote and 15ft component cable with BNC adapters. Projector accepts RGB, component, S-video and composite.

116" widescreen is negotiable but I am leaning on holding onto it. DaLite model C.

I know someone who is interested in getting one of these for around that price, they live right out by me in Frisco...Let me get dibs for a day or two pending a few questions. I'll talk to them and see if they want it and, if so, I'll come pick it up.

I know the picture quelity is excellent....seen that first-hand

How much does one of these cost new?

Would you be able to include the mounting hardware that you're using now?

How big of a screen could you use with with before you start to lose picture quality?

I believe MSRP was £3,800 ( ~ $7000). Got this from my friend who paid 5000 Euros ($6200) for it. He sold it to me after upgrading to 9" Sony CRT.

I will include the mounting I am using. The picture you were seeing was 112" diagonal and the size is dependant on how far the projector is from the screen. The bigger the picture is, the less potential brightness it will have so at some point you will reach a limit. Picture detail is another and that depends on how far you will be watching the picture.

So can you adjust the picture size once you have the projector where you want it...or do you need to adjust the picture size BY moving the mrojector...

Basically that's how it is done, by moving the projector. If you want to have a big picture, make sure you have deep enough room. That will be my reason to sell this projector, I won't have ideal location for it if my offer for a house is accepted.

I told myself I won't buy a house based on HT room compatibility but I sure have passed a lot of houses because of that. This one was too good to pass up. It still might fit a HT but too modest for this projector.

OK, I think they're in the same situation you are...their HT room is only 16X14.

Do you think that room is too small for this projector?

No, I was thinking 16x12 would be a good room when I was looking for houses. Maybe even 15x12 but that's a minimum IMO.

OK...let me talk to them and see if they want it. The wife is a co-worker of mine and I talked to her about it and she's whining that it's too big...but we're gonna take a trip out to their new home and take a look at how they want to set up the HT room and go from there...

is there a way that I can calculate how big the picture will be from a given distance? They're going to want to build their screen to the size the projector gives from a given distance, not sure what that distance is yet though...

Are they going to use it only for widescreen or also for 4:3? You could run 4:3 in widescreen but that would not be my recommendation. Also you do have different size movies so one screen does not fit all.

I will find out about the distance/size ratio.

    Widescreen only...

All the movies would be widescreen as well, so that shouldn't be an issue...

If you build the screen as 16:9 then some movies will not fill the whole screen, just wanted to mention that. Widescreens vary in sizes.
