I need to upgrade my DVD player, only have a little to spend.
What's the best I can get for $200 - for DVD playback only...
I don't need all the features like mp3 and SACD...all that stuff. I already have a player that does all that. I'm just looking for a player with the best DVD movie performance that I can snag for $200

The new samsung with the dvi connection actually looks pretty good, and I've heard good things about the hk-dvd22, both of those might be worth trying out for movie playback, though I think the dvd22 also plays back sacd's.

Ditto. Best $130 I ever spent. Unit looked new and arrived in a few days even though it said "out of stock". Although, mine is kind of going to waste because its hooked up to my old TV that only does interlaced.
I did hook it up to my new TV, and it did better with Monsters Inc than my 2200. (However my 2200 looked better with regular movies like Matrix Reloaded).
