    That's very cool Frank.

I take note with a smile the way your son and daugther are holding their prizes. Your son has a closed fist, typical guy thing. Your daugther is holding it with two fingers out as far away from her as possible, typical girl thing. :D

My son was all fired-up, jumping around and yellin', my daughter did the same until she held up the fish and it gave a huge wiggle. Kinda freaked her out a little. We had a blast!!

    Spas,
Don't wait to long!! We should have started taking our kids a looooong time ago.

    Doro,
Sweet!! We got skunked last weekend at a large resevoir so this weekend we hit the high country. Smaller fish, but less crowded.

WTG Frank! It's great to teach the young kids about the great outdoors. So many of them these days have never held a fishing pole or a .22 in their hands, or learned about woodsmanship or wildlife management or environmental conservation.

You said it Doc! Most of todays kids are brought up on Playstation and X-Box for 4-5 hours a day. Get 'em out and show 'em the world.

    Frank:

Ever you evern get the chance, go camping on top the Grand Mesa (outside of Grand Junction) About dusk you'll catch Rainbows as fast as you can bait the line. Between my brother and I we caught 21 fish in an hour one year...

    Lots of good memories...

Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

as long as I'm sleeping in a hotel
That's called "Condo-ing" not camping! ;) It's tents, sleeping bags, and cooking over an open fire for me.

    Doc,
Agreed. We skipped the .22 and went staight to a 9mm. I'm not a hunter but I'm teaching my kids about wildlife management, and responsible use of our wilderness areas. I want them to be able to take their kids to the same areas some day and teach them the same things. I've already started teaching them basic survival skills, just in case.

    jdhdiggs,
Cool! I'll add it to list of places to try!

We don't go to the regular camp grounds, we like to get off the beaten track and hit the 4WD trails in and around the national forrests and find our secluded areas with out neighbors.
