On a serious note I ditto the Kapton. When I wanted all new speakers she was ok with it because of the CC trade-up and it didn't cost any more then was already spent. But when I wanted the reciever, she also wanted a new living room couch set she got the set first then I got the sub then she wanted a new washer/dryer set (Sears front loading model) I got the sub first then she got the dryer, I then orderd the FX1000's (from Polk) and got her the washer. What we do is each gets something then it is paid off then the other gets something and it is paid off. We each take turns getting something we would like that way nobody gets left out or left behind.
For what it is worth the Sears front loading model washer/dryer has all ready saved us $20-30 on our gas bill and the washer hardly uses any water compaired to the top loading models. I don't know what the savings are on water (we have well water) but I know the savings would be noticeable on the bill.

    Dave,

Is that the Sears brand washer/dryer, or another brand? Thanks.

I too had just bought washer and dryer. I take it yours are Kenmore. I compared several brands (usual suspects) and ended up with LG Electronics front loading washer, which has a new technology (direct drive instead of belt and pulley). Having had a Whirlpool top loading washer in the past (that from time to time, had learned to walk while spinning) this LG washer is definitely will not develop that bad trait (not having an agitator to begin with) and the water saving is definitely desirable (only used 1/3 of the old one). Build quality, the LG is winning hands down, hope it lasts....Btw, it is the first washer and dryer that I owned with electronic controls panel.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

LOL - I just bought a LG Fridge :) - it sure keeps the brews cold for the movies :)

gregure, I'm still aways from those speakers yet. My two year old is not quite ready for the Polks (those will go upstairs in the family room - he's already destroyed my circa 1982 Kenwood towers up there - but they are a good training tool).

Can't wait to drop the other dime on the wife - the Anthem Statement P5 & P2 along with an AVM40 (It will be that long before I have the money).

Nice to see happy marriages here! And of course, my coup de gras is always "Well dear, at least this equipment keeps me at home"

Oh, one more thing, for those who answer all the legit ?'s about stuff with minimal WAF - thanks to all for the info - and keep it coming!!!
    AVR - HK520
    Amp - HK PA2000
    Fronts- Energy Reference Connosieur RC-70
Center - Energy Reference Connosieur LCR
Surround - Energy Reference Connosieur RC-10
Sub - SVS PBU-13 Piano Black
    Samsung HLN617W

Yes we got the HE3 dryer and the HE3T washer in graphite w/the extra bases for storage and 5yr warrenty. The wife had her eye on them since they came out. The washer is the higher priced one that has the sanitary wash (heats the water to sterilize my soiled gutchees :D) and spins out the excess water at 1200 RPM  ! when on spin cycle you can hardly makeout whats in there and when it is done they are hardly even damp which lets the dryer run easier and much less. I agree the water is easliy 1/3 the usage. Both are very quiet and built like a tank. I haven't looked into the LG but am sure it is of good quality also. You really can't go wrong with getting any appliance from Sears IMO they are the best to deal with when getting household appliances.

    Dave,
Those are the same units my Uncle and Aunt have. I've stayed with them when visiting, and those work very well. No kidding, the spin cycle is amazing. I have to imagine that if the washer were big enough, they could use them for G-force machines or particle accelerators. They really seem to go very fast. Again, excellent units, good for you.
