This is the successor model to the DAC Plus. It adds a little better power supply section as it uses (2) huge torrids. The biggest change is it adds DSD and uses the next generation Sabre chipset vs. the Dac Plus. It also has a screen showing the sampling rate. Also dual chipset like the Plus, one for each channel.
This one has been heavily modified w/ Dexa op-amps and Mundorf caps. Here's what the previous owner said:
The MiniMax DAC Supreme for sale here has benefited from the installation of DEXA Opamps (those vertically aligned boards that look like Bingo cards, in the photos) They make a big improvement in what was already a great-sounding DAC.
However, in addition to that, Mundorf capacitors (4 of them, see photos) have been installed to replace the cheaper stock caps in vital positions and now you have a huge improvement, that puts the performance of this DAC right up there with the best DACs available. (and a excellent NOS RCA tube has been installed also)
The cost of this job was $580.00 and the work was done by well-known technician and Canuck member Dan Santoni in Hamilton.

This is a phenomenal sounding dac, very analog and organic, not the typical delta sigma sound, IMO. More refined and defined.
8/10 some minor swirls on the top, not easy to see.
