FOR SALE: MUTEC Prime Select PSC 50 – 0.75m 50-Ohm BNC/BNC Reference Clock Cable – Mint
Up for your consideration is my MUTEC Prime Select PSC 50 BNC/BNC cable, 0.75 meter, designed specifically for the accurate transmission of 10 MHz reference clock signals over a true 50-ohm connection. The cable is lightly used and in mint condition and I will include the original MUTEC box/packaging, also in as new condition. It has been used in a dedicated high-end audio system in a non-smoking, pet-free home, and I am the original owner.

The Prime Select PSC 50 was developed by MUTEC specifically for connecting a 10 MHz master clock to digital audio components equipped with a 50-ohm BNC clock input. Typical applications include master clocks, DACs, streamers, re-clockers, network switches, CD transports/players, and other digital components designed to accept an external 10 MHz reference.
Unlike simply using a generic BNC cable, the PSC 50 maintains the required 50-ohm characteristic impedance through both the cable and BNC connectors. Proper impedance matching helps minimize signal reflections and preserves the integrity of the reference-clock signal. MUTEC designed the PSC 50 with the following:
True 50-ohm characteristic impedance
Double shielding for protection from EMI
Low-loss, gas-foamed PE-LCC dielectric
Low-oxygen copper conductor
Low attenuation
Flexible yet robust 7.3 mm cable construction
Designed and manufactured in Germany
High-quality Damar & Hagen full-metal BNC connectors with hard-gold-plated contact areas on the BNC connectors
Just as an FYI, for a reference-clock connection, shorter is generally preferable when the equipment layout permits it, as it reduces reflections which create more noise and can distort the edges of the 10 MHz square-wave clock signal and potentially contribute to timing issues. Shorter lengths also minimize signal losses and interference. It also keeps the attenuation in check. MUTEC itself recommends choosing the shortest practical cable length in order to minimize signal loss and susceptibility to interference.
I would just like to note that here is absolutely nothing wrong with the cable. I upgraded the clock/digital cabling in my system to a Snake River Audio Takshaka (at a whopping 5 times the retail cost), which is the only reason I am selling this great MUTEC cable. My upgrade gives you the chance for this upgrade on your system!
The PSC 50 is an excellent purpose-built clock cable and would be a very good match for a MUTEC REF10, REF10 SE120, REF10 NANO, or another 10 MHz master clock feeding equipment with a 50-ohm BNC clock input. It was in use in my system from the Esoteric transport to the MUTEC REF10 SE120 with excellent results.
Polk Audio Club members - This is priced to move at: $120.00*
*If you are not a Club Polk member and you see this on Hi-Fi Shark or other search engine in the coming days, the price will be $140.00 - Shipping and insurance are additional and will be charged at actual cost to the buyer. The item will be shipped as soon as funds clear. I reserve the right to not sell this cable at this price to a non-established Club Polk member or a member not in good standing. CONUS only.
Photos are of the actual cable and packaging. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Be on the lookout for more cables that I will be offering up for your consideration in the coming weeks.
