Cary SLP-05 Headphone Jack issue.

Options
I was going through my closet full of audio goodies, and came across my OPPO PM-1 Headphones.
It’s been a couple years since I have played with them. Fired up the system, plugged them in, and the jack and or switch will not put it in headphone mode. Worked just fine last time I used them, no issues at all.

Any ideas before I call Cary next week? Part of me doesn’t care, because I rarely use it, but part of me likes knowing nothing is broken as well, especially for what I paid for it..

The headphones work fine in my OPPO 205, I am thinking it’s the headphone switch, I may take it out tomorrow, and polk my head inside..

I hear you, if it's there it should work.

The switch/jack would have to be really dirty or bad for no sound at all. Powered off you could ohm test the switch. A pair of 6SN7 are used for headphone out, hard to believe they would both be bad. I don't see any relays in a nekkid underside pic. Cary has the schematics locked in a vault, nothing found with a quick search.

We could blame you for knocking a wire off when you did the VU meter bulbs, but those are in the other chassis. :D

Cary is a pain point for me.

    Too many issues...with many things.

    B) Hahahaha, fingered it out at this early morning hour. :D

I forgot the amps need to be off, and they come on when you turn on the pre amp (remote triggers) pulled them, and fixed. LOL..

It has been a while, guess I should have looked at the owners manual yesterday. LOL!!!

    Tom,

I have only had the one issue with the meters, it was an easy fix, frustrating at first, but Steve at Cary walked me through it. I absolutely LOVE this unit.

    Yep, rookie moment.. :D

Have to say, OPPO made a great set of headphone's, they sound amazing, I had thought about selling them, think I will hang on to them now.
