Had to fix AC Unit

So our AC Unit went down the other day, easy fix really, had to pick up a Coil Contactor, and a Capacitor. It was a bad Contactor, but changed the Capacitor while I was there.

I picked them up from Charles D for $26.45

How is it cheaper for me to fix our AC Unit, than it is for the two of us to eat at Culver’s? Or even Chick-Fil-A..

I could only imagine what it would have cost us, had I called someone out to fix our AC unit though.

Probably a $250 service visit. They would charge triple for the parts too.

Depends on if it's a private equity op or a regular mom and pop

    Pe maybe 650 to 700... Mandp 250 to 300

Good job! I did ours a few years ago. If you have the skills and know how to prevent hurting yourself, you can save $$ with DIY and take the wife out to a nice place with cloth napkins. ;) I also shut off power and pop the top fan unit off (have to disconnect fan wires) and clean the coils every year.

So did you go for a nice cap like a Clarity Cap or a Mundorf, or cheap out and go with a Solen or Dayton/Bennic?
    ahem.

At $26.95 he didn't get a Clarity PUR for the Purity, that's for sure... :D

I'd just like to point out that the post above contains three sets of ellipses (none actually used, technically, correctly), a hyphen, and an emoji.
    BINGO!

If you have the knack to fix them, just ensure you use a "My Sharona" rated capacitor.

"Ooh, you make my motor run, my motor run........." :D

Apologies if I got that stuck in your head now....
