Happy Canada Day! (a day late)
I was wondering, do folks up there still like to travel enmasse across the border into the USA on Canada Day? I still remember July 1, 2010 when I traveled from Michigan to Buffalo and back and spent a combined 8 hours crossing the border back into the USA.
Getting into Canada was light volume and no more than 15 minutes each way, but crossing into Buffalo was almost 2 hrs and crossing back into Michigan was a 6hr wait. It was insane. The line for the bridge at Sarnia was about a 10km backup which I waited for about 2hrs with negligible movement, then I managed to get to the next exit and went down to the ferry at Sombra and still had to wait about 4hrs. It was a nightmare, but in the end, it was worth it because that was my best audio road trip deal ever when I ended up with the SS-M9 and a full set of period correct Sony ES components in the back of the van. The ~400 mile round trip ended up taking almost 18 hours because of all the delays (and loading time for the gear).
Seems like a lifetime ago and the border crossings have probably only gotten slower due to increased security/scrutiny.

Lol. The majority of Canucks don't travel to the US much/ anymore. Most of it would get this thread closed if we discussed it. It was a typical poopoo weather day. Felt like 47C with nasty storms/wind gusts up to 112km hr. Massive downpours. Again typical early July weather. The kids, my wife and I stay away from all the massive downtown crowds and activities and floated around in our pool.
