I may regret this, but I've decided to sell my ST-500 amp. $500+ shipping for established Polkies. I don't have the original box, but the seller I got it from back in 2021 created a bomb-proof double box setup with a mix of rigid and soft foam. I trust it with United Parcel Smashers.
This uses a pair of robust ICEPower modules and Wyred's Dual FET input buffer to make a very nice sounding 250wpc into 8ohms and 550wpc into 4ohms. This drove my Sony SS-M9 and my Revel F208 to concert type levels without ever breaking a sweat. It is barely warm to the touch after hours of playing. If you have been curious what Class-D is capable of, this is a relatively inexpensive road to effortless power. This is the same version that was tested by 6moons here: https://6moons.com/audioreviews/wyred5/st500.html
Note: this is a fully differential amp design, so it will not work with SDA speakers unless you have a Dreadnought style isolation transformer. Local meetup in Atlanta Metro is always welcome.
The amp appears flawless to me, but I'd give it a conservative 8/10 on the A-gon scale due to age and the fact that three screws are Philips head and don't match the other 24 hex screws.
Photos taken with flash to show any flaws.
I will also be listing this on local marketplace and US Audiomart this weekend for a bit more money.
