SDA 1C- Refinished in All Black/High Gloss

I picked up my SDA 1C speakers in November 2025 and they looked a little tired.
The cloth sides were loose, partially detached - I removed them/cleaned off remaining glue
The wood finish on the top/bottom was mostly gone/dull - I sanded them to the raw wood

I glued on new sides - 5/16" thick rift sawn red oak
Stained them true black and put on five coats of high gloss poly

Mods include:
RDO 194s x 4
Larry's rings
Ben's x-overs

ClarityCap 12uf ESA's x 2
ClarityCap 2.2uf ESA's x 4

Dayton 20uf x 2
Dayton 40uf x 2
Mills 7.5ohm resistors x 4
Mills 2.5ohm resistors x 4

I've had my SDA 2B speakers since 2001 when I purchased them from the original owner. I listened to them for about an hour to get a good comparison before I pulled them out and the SDA 1C's went in. I was really impressed with how the 1C's sounded - best sounding speakers I've heard. Comparing the two:
SDA 2B - 7/10
SDA 1C - 10/10

I'm really happy how they sound and how they look in true black/high gloss.
