I took a TD-150 to a guy for some work and suddenly the platter spins backwards sometimes upon start or it needs a helping hand to start spinning other times. Both capacitors were replaced. Anybody have a motor or a problem-child TD-150 I could purchase for the motor? I’ve heard the motor from TD 165’s are the same but I haven’t confirmed that. Don

It's a pretty simple circuit, make sure the wiring was done correctly when the capacitors were installed:

The service manual for the TD 165 shows the exact same wiring for the motor, however the part number for the 150 motor is S 804-550 and the TD 165 part number is 7.861.017. This might mean the two motors are similar but the mounting brackets (or pulleys) are different. -
Maybe the polarity of the caps needs to be switched?2ch rig: Speakers: Magnepan LRS w/Magna Riser stands Preamplifier: Parasound P5 Amplifier: Parasound A23 CDP: Pioneer DV-563A Cables: Wireworld Equinox 7 XLR ICs, Wireworld Ultraviolet 7 USB, AudioQuest Q2s, AudioQuest NRG X(preamp)
Standby: LSi9s with VR3's Fortress mods -
It should be a non-polarized motor start/run capacitor.
