Comparing Bass output
How would you compare the bass output of a Polk PSW1200 sub (just one in a stereo system) , to the bass produced by Polk SDA SRS's. Will the sub go as deep or deeper,, or no?? I'm playing around with a possible new system. The sub will not be used with the SDA's by the way...Thanks ...Rich

PSW 1200 will beat it in output, extention, the whole 9 yards.
The 1.2TL has great bass, but not subwoofer bass.
*puts on flame suit just in case*- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
So you would say the PSW1200 comes highly recommended? Thanks for your thoughts...RichRich

Whoa there... What are you trying to accomplish? You only asked which of two alternatives would be better. Do you have an actual implementation issue that you are looking at?There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

I'm trying to capture the low acoustics .....Equal to or better than the SDA SRS's, which I used to own. Short of buyng them back, I would like to add a sub to a set of Infinity's that I have. I haven't heard the PSW1200, so I am looking for an experienced ear to guide me. I have a line on one but it's far from here. Just looking for honest opinions....Thanks,,,,,,Rich

If you have a budget in mind you could talk to Doc Spec here or craigsub in the AVS/HTF/spot forums. Both have a lot of experience with various subs that could possible give you a better match for what you are trying to do.There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Hi Rich - the PSW1200 is a high quality sub that is well built and in my 5 years of owning have never bottomed out or had any mechanical problems with. Thier are many quality subs on the market - the PSW1200 was not long term mass produced and they rare in perfect condition. In the 25 to 35 (hz) range it is a monster givin its 200 watts of continues power. It will fill in the lower end on any system - especially corner loaded..........

Well,,,,,,,,, thanks for all your thoughts.......I think I'll go with the Infinity's with their sweet natural mids and highs (Emim+Emit) and the PSW1200......for the boom....lol That's one thing I didn't care for with the SDA SRS,, (mid+high) but I loved the bottom end. Overall, just not enough Open soundstage.....Rich
