Ready to give up on theaters

I went with a girlfriend tonight to see Spiderman. About 15 minutes before the movie, these 3 girls come in and sit in the row behind us. 5 minutes later this group of thug **** punk boys come in and sit at the opposite end of the theater. Ok, now the fun begins. The thugs spot the girls and decide to join them. The movie has not began yet, about 5 or minutes away. They're laughing, making noise, the thugs are talking trash (with the accompanyed bad language) in an attempt to impress the girlies.
Dim the lights and all is quiet...one of the thugs shout very loud..."Dayummm, I done lost Ho!" Of course the HO's are impressed. THE REST OF THE THEATER IS NOT!
We're thinking...WTF??? Then my girl says to me, "There's gonna be trouble, you watch."
Start the trailers then enter the movie. About 10 minutes in one of the thugs begins shouting..."Yo **** phucka, I'll talk all the **** I want and you ain't gonna do a phuckin thing about it!" At that time, this big muscle dude behind them gets up and small riot almost ensues. Thug boy is shouting all the 3 and 4 letter words in the book at this guy, then the theater. Mind you, there are kids in the theater. People seated in our general area begin walking out. I jump up and storm out of the theater. I see Mr. Manager dude standing outside the door and go over to him.
"Hey, you better get in there right now and do something about these punk **** thugs causing a small riot. You'll have half the theater requesting their money back if you don't do something, starting with ME!" No sooner I say that when 3 cops come toward the theater. The thug boys try to make their getaway, but it ain't happening. I yell to the cops..."Right there officers, grab those 3 brats!" They grab and detain them.
I go back in and all is quiet. Still, we couldn't enjoy the rest of the movie because we're so pissed off from the incident. Afterwards, we were both in agreement that going to the movies may be a thing of the past!
Long live Home Theaters!

Very sad state of affairs. What can ya do ??? **** ****. Something very similar happened to me today while taking my 5 year old son for a walk around the park. A group of young teenie boppers start yelling and cussing at a passing car.......just stupid mindless ......"hey I Know you moth*&r Fuc%r" " You blah blah blah. Now this is right outside my house, couple streets down, and in a "decent" neighborhood. What are you gonna do ?? I wanted to smack some ****, but then what ?? I go to jail for breaking a minors face.....aughhh... I hate that I have to explain this to my son. And it happens more and more wherever you go.
Great generation we sowed eh ?
MTV would be proud.
sheesh..

One row behind and to the left of them was a mother and 2 children. Their father brought them to the movies for the night, but left just short of the start. It just so happens that the father was a Police Officer patroling the theater area (big multiplex Lowes theater).
When he saw his family (with me close by raising hell) standing in the lobby, he got seriously pissed. Thats when they grabbed the 3 punk **** thugs and detained them.
It's rediculous that punks like this have money to blow on a movie, only to sit there and ruin it for everyone else. They think it's so cool and impresses people.
I take comfort in knowing trash like this will wind up dead soon from a failed drug deal or some drive by shooting! I hope they don't wind up in jail where we taxpayers are footing the bill. I value my money more than these thugs lives! Might sound cruel, but it's the way it is!

They act that way....
Because they know all thats going to happen - is they might go the Juvy for like 2 months, they'll come out - and do it all over again.
I mean really, if there wouldnt be so many stupid laws put into place alot of the BS like that wouldnt even happen. Heck, if you even touch someone now adays you can get sued.
Anyways -
I hate the theater.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
When I go to the movies about twice a year - thier is always that tough guy tring to impress his girlfriend and always goes the most annoying route. Many times it is a rated R movie and the entire theater is unattended children. And the list goes on and on........

i usually just wait a couple weeks after a movie has been released and try to see it at a matinee. usually the theater is mostly empty and you don't have to worry about the idiots ruining the experience. sucks to have to do that, but i'd rather wait then go opening day and deal with the scum of society.

We don't do the theater thing anymore.
The only time we DO go see a movie, it's at the 'Studio Movie Grill'. It's setup full size, but only seats maybe 50-100 people, and at half-circle dinner tables at that.
It costs more to get a couple pints of suds, dinner, or just some popcorn and soda - but it's an entirely different world from the common 'cram em in there movieplex'. ($5 pints and $9 Chicken Finger baskets = adults only for the most part)
Most things, we just wait for the dvd to rent, or even until it hits previously viewed to buy. It resulted in us seeing NOTHING for about the first 6-8 months, but now we can watch new (to us) stuff all the time - as we are about 6 - 12 months BEHIND what's in theaters. (we are renting / buying used what was in theaters LAST year)

That's what we usually do, but it didn't work yesterday at Spiderman 2. Had to sit on the second row (and I'm farsighted), all we could hear in the quiet scenes were noisy kids and food wrappers. Total waste of my $35, could've bought the movie and had dinner instead of popcorn! -

What a grand idea! Dinner theater revisited. It's been proven many times - bumping the price filters out the low lifes. Most things, we just wait for the dvd to rent, or even until it hits previously viewed to buy. I'm with ya there, Russ. Those 6 months (sometimes shorter) between the theatrical release and the DVD go by pretty quickly."What we do in life echoes in eternity"

Once we had a nice setup at home it seemed like a waste to go out to see a movie. We can decide how cold or warm we want the room, we can put our feet up, eat and drink something better than soda and popcorn (and it's less expensive!), and lets not forget the pause button. Great for those bathroom breaks or super long movies. We prefer to wait till it's on dvd.
