RIP Steve Cropper

Steve Cropper, the funky guitarist of Booker T. & the MG's, died on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Nashville at the age of 84. "The Colonel" was at the heart of Stax Records, recording and producing for most of the 1960s, and worked with Art Garfunkel, Ringo Starr, the Blues Brothers, John Lennon, Pops Staples, Albert King, Levon Helm & the RCO All-Stars, and others. He was elected to the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005.
