I thought it was obvious from the photos that “Deez Nuts” I was using are hurricane nuts.

The hurricane nuts do not have the on teeth back.

I do like to put one drop of power grab of the back of each one just before tightening it down.

For hurricane nuts, as I stated, and this is just my opinion, use your fingers to tighten down the bolt till the very end. Only the last couple turns with the screws driver to tighten down completely. This will prevent stripping or damaging the nut by trying to force it with a screw driver.

The previous owner had these mounted on the wall with brackets that left a few holes in the back of the cabinets. I filled the holes and sanded them down and applied a new sheet of black vinyl veneer. I think it looks almost the same as the original. Either way I covered the holes.

Finished the back of the other speaker and added gaskets to terminal plates

Now looking at those pics, the enclosures look like the less-dense particle board similar to the 5Jr's. So the 8 mount fasteners and wider terminal plates should stiffen up that rear baffle. Great job again.

I found with delrin you have to add the extra holes to make the proper seal

New port tubes arrived over the holidays.

Check out the 2 original ones. They are not even the same size 🤪 Seems like quality control was a top priority in those days. Or not 😂

The ones in the middle are almost the exact length as the originals but do actually reach the surface of the front baffle.

On the left is the original un modified port tube. On the right the new tube.

That should fix the chuffing. Will you try the longest ports as well?

The longer ones are slightly tapered and get stuck halfway through the hole. I think a little sanding will fix it.

The series 2 M4 port tube is 1/4" wider in diameter and almost 2" longer.

I'm on a damn smartphone right now but the tuning frequency is given by the formula Fb = (345 / 2π) × √(A / (Vb × Leff)). If they had a different Vb in one box for some reason, they may have had reason for a different Leff.
