Polk Series Question
May sound like a dumb question. But what is the difference between the different series of speakers. Maybe I don't mean difference. Is it just that each yr they give the speaker a different series letter. I have R50s. But I see RT, FX, LS...etc. Does that mean my speaker is do much more inferior or just an older model being phased out. Sorry for such a dumb question. Just trying to sort out all the different types. Thanks for any help you can give. This forum rocks.

Sometimes the designation is for a different type of speaker in the same line and other times it is because it is in a different line of speakers.
For example: R50, Rti8 and Lsi15 are all floorstanding speakers in a different line up. The Rxx speaks are Polk's entry models, Rtix are the mid-lines and the LSi series is the top shelf stuff.
In a particular line there are different kinds of speakers, ie. Rtix/LSix would indicate direct radiating main or surround speaks, Csix/LSiC would be the center channel speak and Fxi/LSiFX is the bipole/dipole effects speak for surround work only.
Hope this helps, and welcome to the forum. There are two ways to argue with women. Both of them are wrong.
