Polk SRT sytem question
Guys-
A guy I know wants to sell his SRT system. He has it all boxed up so I've never heard it. This question is for those of you who have heard the SRT system.
Does it have enough tweeter action to compensate for all those drivers and sub action???
I mean the SRS 1.2's have 4 tweets to go with 8 drivers, from what I can tell in the pictures on the polk site it looks like the SRT system runs only 1 tweeter per speaker with alot of drivers. Seems to me this would make a bass/mid heavy sound.

One tweeter is plenty thank you very much ...

Dito.
They sound great! Go ahead and buy them, you wont regret it. They will keep you happy for years and years... -
seems most people who've heard them give the system high marks. I know it is an awesome, powerful system.
It just seemed to me with that many drivers compared to the small number of tweeters
that the sound would be less crisp and sharp.
To all interested, if I decide not to go for it, I will put you in touch so you can make an offer.

If you decide not to go for it you will be making a decision that if you have the oppertunity to hear them one day you will regret. I am presuming you haven't heard them as yet otherwise you wouldn't be asking this question. Remember that not all the drivers are doing the same thing, the SDA array is a cancelling factor for the imaging / soundstaging. Maybe you should listen to them????
Makes no difference to me if you buy them or not but everyone that has heard them rave about how good they are, even with the tweeter 'concern' you alone have. -
There are those who have questioned the capabilities of the subs and imho those questions are at least somewhat justified in that they do require thorough calibration to properly blend with the satellites and sometimes source to source minor level tweaking to be their best. However the satellites themselves which are a four way design are among the best I've ever heard in production of mids and highs.

You are worrying about a tweeter problem which does not exist. A more realistic problem you might want to consider is their tiny size.
madmaxVinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -
You should buy them now, question later. The SRT and the 1.2TL are the pinnacles of Polk freakdom.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I'll see what I can do, if he's reasonable I'll do it. Which brings to mind another question,
He said he's not sure what it's worth.
What would be a reasonable price?

Which components ( besides the mains ) does he have ?
Is this the deal ? http://www.craigslist.org/sfc/ele/35158832.html -
