Speakers sound muffled -CR

Hello
I have some Polk floorstanding speakers and every time I play my record player to my receiver the speakers sound muffled like the sound is distant for some reason any ideas on how to fix this?

    Let’s start with a few questions -

    1. Do you know the model of your Polk speakers? If not, can you post a picture with the grill removed?
    2. Do you have other sources hooked to your receiver? Do you get “unmuffled” sound with something other than your turntable?
    3. What kind of receiver do you have?

    I’m sure we can figure out what’s going on…!
