Give it a try, see if you like the sound. Get an SPL meter on you phone, run a test tone on your AVR make sure they are at the same level
other thing, Return the ES10 and sell the HTS then get an HSU VTF2 or SVS PB2000When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.
