Denon AVR Power On/Off Other Than Roku Unit?

I currently have my system setup so that Roku remote turns on TV and Roku Ultra. The Roku then turns on the Denon AVR.

Problem is that the Roku Ultra does not imediately power off when you hit the remote power button. It stays on for a specific amount of time until it goes back to sleep mode. Becuase of that the Denon turns off initially, but sometimes turns back on due to the Roku still being active although the rest of the setup has been turned off.

Ideally I'd like to power the Denon AVR on/off with the TV, but it does not have 12v trigger.

Any thoughts on how best to power Denon AVR on/off without the Roku doing it? I'd really like to keep the control simple with just using the Roku remote.....the wife doesn't want to deal with multiple remotes and steps to power on/off, me neither.

Universal remote that will control TV, Roku and Denon? SofaBaton? I just need power on/off, volume, menu controls. Just basics. I'll use the specific unit remote for detailed work if necessary. And I don't want to spend big $$$ either.

Thanks

Once you enable HDMI CEC control, there can always be random weird stuff happen like that. For my living room setup, I've just come to live with the fact that my Pioneer receiver occasionally turns itself on, plays for a couple minutes, then shuts back off. All the while, the TV stays off.

I'm not familiar with SofaBaton, but I use Logitech Harmony products and that can allow you to turn off CEC control. It still has occasional glitches. I've never had a 100% reliable universal remote setup since I bought my first one in 2003 (a Sony touch pad AV3000). Harmony has worked the best though.

Enable HDMI CEC on your TV and Denon to sync power on/off. If that fails, use a cheap universal remote like SofaBaton to control all devices with one button. Relying on Roku alone won’t fix the power issues.
