Monitor 60 Series II vs RTi8? Opinions? Which is better for music?

In my area I see the Monitor 60 Series II and RTi8 for sale, seemingly both in equally good shape. Very similar price: about $70. Which one should I take? I'm planning to use with a sub for a 2.1 system for listening to music. Home theater application is not a priority for me.
Someone on Audiokarma forums gave a glowing review of the Monitor 60, but those were the original ones, not Series II:

Someone on AVS forums claims that the Series II is noticeably worse-sounding than the original:

Seems like some peeps on Reddit like the RTi8s. Anyone else have any thoughts?

PS: should I be concerned at all about the jumpers (or whatever they're called) on the binding posts being askew like this?

Finding someone that has personal experience with both is highly unlikely. Buy both and resell the pair you don't like.
You would need to reconnect the jumpers.Political Correctness'.........defined
