just got the polk 6200 system with 250subwfr. sounds great on one side, but center speaker and right side barely has sound and more of a hissing sound.
my receiver does not have a center output. (old sony rec) do i need to update rec. to get correct sound or will the old left/right speaker outputs on back do?
thanks in advance

    ??
    YES!

I don't understand. Could you expain how you have it hooked up? I can answer your question about the receiver, though. YES, you do need to upgrade your receiver if you want to use the five-channel system.

i have the sp. wire coming out of rec into the inputs on the sub. and the outputs on the sub has the sp. wire going to speakers.

thanks on the rec. recommendation. would an upgraded model have front, rear, and center outputs? any suggestions on good models under 300.00.

    thanks again!

yes a DD/DTS reciever would have outputs for front, center, rear channels, and a LFE out to the sub. for under $300 i would recommend onkyo's 494. this can be found at CC for $299...

did you try unhooking all your speaker wiring and double checking it to ensure you have everything wired correctly? you may want to double check this...
