I recently purchased a used Rotel amp for my shop off of Audiogon and it developed a problem, so I sent it to Rotel Service for out of warranty repair. I had been waiting for them to call with a repair estimate when the damn thing showed up at my door today, repaired at no charge!!!

Needless to say, I am very impressed with their service. I wish I was as impressed with the amp, but for the price I paid and it's purpose I quess I shouldn't complain.

Edited: the offending "was" has been removed.....lol.

From what I can tell, he's got one extra 'was' in there. If you think that requires posting a message, you're going to be posting craploads of threads about it.

But anyway, sry if I offended you, we could all just stop talking about it, and talk about the actual subject of this thread.

Hey, I was making light of my grammar error as well as yours, it happens from time to time. Is that a quote from me? Doesn't look like something I typed.

I'm not looking for a war, but can do so if that's what you want, your call.

It's part of my shop rig and is much better than the receiver it replaced. As I said, for the money I shouldn't complain, but the case is flimsy as hell. The entire case is slighty twisted, so that one foot sits slightly higher than the other three. When you hit the power switch you can hear the metal case ring, so I thought I'd Dynamat it, but with the way the case fits on it doesn't seem like I can do that. As for the sound, I'd say it's average, but it does control the bass better than the old receiver, so that's a plus.

That's one of the rigs I wanna build... A shop rig. The GAYrage is pretty big, so I need to produce some sound, but I also have a family living over top of it (there is an "elevated" rancher built on top of it), so I can't get too crazy.

My problem is I'm spoiled by the house, now I can't have a so-so rig, it's GOTTA be decent...;)

You gotta figure though......compared to what F1 is using for amplification, most amps will suffer by comparison.

That's a nice bonus having the amp repaired gratis. What was wrong with it originally?

I've sent some questions to Rotel about an amp via email and they've always responded in a timely manner. One time, their engineers even sent a detailed explaination about incorporating a speaker protection circuit into one of their older amp. Disclaimers and such not withstanding... ;)
