Started watching this in the hotel while traveling last week, and it is unbelievably good. It’s Billy Bob Thornton playing an “actuator” of sorts for big-oil down in west Texas. I’m only a few episodes in, but it just might be the best show I’ve ever seen on TV. Directed by Taylor Sheridan.

Agreed on both accounts. We have already been through the first season and look very forward to season 2. Taylor Sheridan is definitely on a roll. He's like the George Lucas of today's world. Everything I have seen from him has been outstanding.
Landman is no exception.
BTW, speaking of Taylor Sheridan and one of his shows......as many of you already know, Yellowstone no longer has Kevin Costner. He already had a prior obligation that I am also enjoying. It's a story of the historical beginning of America's National Parks. I'm only two episodes in, but so far? It's great. From the actual story itself, to the breathtaking cinematography. It's called "Yellowstone to Yosemite". It's also a highly recommended watch.
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

If you haven’t seen them, the movies Wind River and HeII or High Water are both by him as well, and both are fantastic.“Human beings are born with different capacities. If they are free, they are not equal. And if they are equal, they are not free.”

I was completely surprised at how much I liked Landman. Reading a short article about it, it didn't sound appealing at all. But if you like Billy Bob, you will like this show. He was great in Goliath as well.

We enjoy Landman too.
If there was an award for the most f-bombs in a show, surely it would get it.Yep, my name really is Bob.

Yep, awesome show, not to mention the eye candy is pretty good too.
Another show that is Oscar material for next year is called The Pit....on Max. Each show covers one hour in an emergency room in Pittsburg. This is not your normal run of the mill Hospital soap opera. Give it a wirl.HT SYSTEM-

I think that 'prior obligation' was the 'official' reason, but there were rumors about disagreements over production and story lines between Sheridan and Costner. Costner's character left very suddenly, that's for sure. I think the series finale was good, which is not always the case when a big series like that one wraps-up.
We like Landman as well, and also enjoyed Goliath with BBT. He somehow always seems to have a hottie at his side, even at his age. But then again, he was married to Angelina Jolie at one point. He's currently on wife # 6"This may not matter to you, but it does to me for various reasons, many of them illogical or irrational, but the vinyl hobby is not really logical or rational..." - member on Vinyl Engine

I must take back my comment on F-bombs in Landman....surely The Mayor of Kingstown gets that honor.Yep, my name really is Bob.

The wife and I just started watching this, it’s fantastic. Just finished ep5 .
What shocked me was when I saw the name Mark Collie, Sheriff Walt, I really liked him back in the early 90’s. Just in case some of you didn’t know..😎https://youtu.be/ny72R_tjI0A?si=iD5kYjoeJ_zKuz2s

I remember him from The Punisher, as Harry Heck…

That character is perfect for Billy Bob Thornton. He's great in that role.
