Ferrofluid!
Lately I find myself rehabbing some speakers. Specifically, tweeters. I've been buying ferrofluid from well known speaker repair sites, for a very astronomical price. Yet I see ferrofluid for sale in bulk on Amazon, etc. What's the difference? Is it all the same?

According to the Internet,Ferrofluids are not all the same. Many factors are affecting ferrofluid performance: weight, density... quantity, type and size of magnetic metal particlesPolitical Correctness'.........defined

Ferrotec APG Series audio FF or Liquiglide is highly regarded, but that depends on stability, long term - fluidity and viscosity, temperature and magnetic qualities. Not to mention the manufacturers spec's.
This gets deep and opens up a whole other can of worms that most folk? Well, they could simply care less. Industry insiders often change just a tad bit "to claim" that their product is "proprietary". Many times, this is complete BS and I would question....inaudible in most cases. It's just for marketing BS.

Agreed, it gets deep. The stuff from Parts Express seems to work perfectly, IME.Political Correctness'.........defined

I know that ferro fluid can smell like fish under certain "conditions". You do not want your ferro fluid to smell like fish.I disabled signatures.
