I'd have to say cross path.
    Wicked.

Some people find the topic taboo. I guess I used to before I got my first mc, but the circumstances of incidents like this are just more info for the "riding KB"... "the more you know" kind of thing. Gives you more to work with, more to watch for.

I will say that for as much fun as riding is, I usually find myself in a sobering, serious moment or few before throwing a leg over. It's part of the ritual as I'm gearing up. Gets my head in the right place. Complacency'll get ya.

I bet @Rick88 is getting geared up for Spring. His account's been gone for years now.

A real good friend of mine, which has now retired from running his dealership, told me once that "rockets" were made for the track, period. I never liked them, the guess that's why I bought another 650 VStrom, a '23 this time. I like to travel on a bike and this fits the bill nicely...

@Geoff4rfc - what was that thing your competitors used to say? They understood why you put your sponsor stickers on the bottom of your bike? Because you'd wait so late to brake in the turns that you'd go up on the front wheel?

LOL, one guy told me I should run my decals underneath my bike because he saw what rear shock I was running when I passed him on the brakes, my back wheel would be anywhere from 2 to 2.5 feet off the ground. Sometimes I'd look over at them while I was going by.....that was the only thing I could do well, braking. Didn't matter who was in front of me, I'd wait for him to brake, go by and then brake, which was kinda bad since I had no clue where to brake if no one was in front of me....so, I go in as deep as I could until I scared the crap out of myself and saw God....

......we're talking about entering turn one at Portland....full speed down the straight hitting 175mph on the 750, 185 on the liter bike, then in as little of ground as possible, slow to 120mph to enter the turn, downshifting from 6th to 4th gear, we call that....hauling a$$.

As a bit of a head game, guys would ask me how I go in so deep on the brakes, I'd say, when I get past the brake markers, I close my eyes and count to three, then brake.......lmao, I'd get the "you're insane" look every time....can't give away all my secrets
