      I don't get to use this room for much critical listening or hours like my office. I had the one of the R700's connected and the Fluance Signature connected on the other channel. Being brand new the R700 had a tighter bass, in time I think it may relax a bit. The mid's were a tie, the tweeter I have to give the edge to the R700. It was not night & day, I could keep each one connected and not be displease with the proformance. I feel having the power of the crown amps allow the Fluance's to reach their peak optimum output, The Fluance were a bit more efficient at low volume, but once you give the R700's some power they leap forward. The mid range is very nice on both, the R700 is a little bit more forward, but that can be style dependent of the music you may be listening to. I will need to feed more music through the R700, but I am happy with the change.

      I haven't had a chance to view the video yet, but how much time do you have on the R700s?

      With new speakers, I enjoy the break-in / burn-in period to observe how they change. I'm eager to hear your impressions along the way as the R700s loosen up and settle in.

      I was going through a bit of break in process with them and the power went out in my area for maintenance upgrade, power was out for over 8 hours. What I did notice prior to the outage that the tweeters on the R700 were more detailed, with that being said that could be in the height difference in the speakers, the R700 is about 1.5-2 inches shorter that the Fluance which can make a difference in the dispersion angle of each driver and my listening position (ear height). I will fire up the rig and let it play most of the day today.

      You should definitely notice a difference in the highs between the ring radiator tweeters on the Polks and the neodymium tweeters on those Fluances.

      Once I put about 10 hours on them I will run a few of what I call my test tracks. Miles Davis "Kinda Blue" is what I use to hear a difference from tweeters, his trumpet play pushes tweeters very hard and can let you know about your amp/power supply. A system that is lacking in reserve power for those peak highs & lows causes roll offs & listening fatigue where a speaker may sound weak or not as satisfying as one thought it should. I also use Bozzio, Levin Stevens "Duende" to test the mid & bass.
